I mentioned in my previous post that I was comparing the same leg on multiple laps. I got the OK from Luka to make and post a video that compares all his upwinds from the race on Saturday.
I was really impressed how consistent he is, and also by the fact that all four upwind legs were completed within 30 seconds from the fastest to the slowest.

Bora, Dave was 4 minutes in front. They sailed one lap extra too. Some else who does not read the SIs.
Yep, Dave did win. I’m struggling with my upwind height compared to him, but nothing some money can’t fix. Downwind speed is exactly the same in the medium stuff.
Where was the luka wand positioned for this sailing? could the lengthening & stiffening of the luka wand improve performance upwind or is it more of a distraction?
I would imagine that sailing with a very long and stiff wand could become rather uncomfortable after a while especially in bumpy waters? Am I correct in my understandings?
