So after the nationals my post “the double edged sword” should make a bit more sense. Before the Nationals, Dave and Luka put in a huge number of hours developing bits.
Some were discovered, and have appeared in various pixelated photos or renders, however some were not.
It was very interesting to watch at the nationals how much attention something brings when it is covered for people not to see. Like the famous Australia II Americas cup campaign, as soon as you cover something. It instantly attracts attention, as people just NEED to know what is under the cover.
Which is great, especially if you want to hide something else, because all you need to do is put it in plain sight, next to something that is covered, and no one will even notice the thing that is uncovered right in front of them. Luka’s adjustable wand is one such example.
Luka has alluded to the other bits that no one noticed but it up to him if he want’s to reveal what they are.

Hey Bruce, I took your advice from nats to mind and removed the render within 10 mins of putting it up… hopefully not TOO many people will have cracked onto the lister lever in that timeframe…
You aren’t far wrong though about hiding in plain sight – the mini rudder’s interesting but not paramount… phil stevo’s post about dave’s speed is an important thing to keep in mind, it’s knowing what to do with the trick bits, not just having them, that generates speed.
There aren’t that many secrets on Luka’s boat – but I’m sworn to secrecy as to exactly what those are!

Why do you assume they were not noticed? That seems fairly presumptive – there are a lot of smart people in the class.
