We had a moth training day at St. George today, with 9 boats turning up for a sail including Rohan’s new Bladerider and Luka’s new prowler.

Off the bat I must say how impressed I was with the Bladerider, they guys at KA have though through every little detail and have come up with the neatest moth I have ever seen. Luka’s new Prowler, however is a gorgeous boat, and the clear carbon foils are a work of art.

Rohan also handed out some Velocitek GPS’s for people to use. The S10 is a great little unit, however the data in the one I borrowed had not been cleared and it did not record any track data.

It did however record my 10 second average at 13.7 knots, and my peak speed at 15 knots. Not bad considering my foil setup still has a long way to go, and I was only pottering around in a 13 knot breeze with the odd 17 knot gust. Thanks fo the loan Rohan, I think that you may have got youself another customer next year when I get the new boat.

If Virtual Reality is not your style, maybe you fancy a Hobie 18?

My brother is selling his. It comes with registered trailer, beach rollers, harnesses, spares for $5000.

You can contact him on (02) 6584 0496.

With the nationals now only a month away, the rush to get the new boats ready for the nationals is well and truly on. Luka’s prowler is currently on route from Perth to Sydney, and Rohan’s Bladerider will be on a plane from China shortly.

At St. george there are 4-5 new boats planning to be built for next season, of which at least 3 will be a new (yet to be finalised) design, with one possibly being sailed from Port Macquarie.

If you want to see them in action, we are holding a pre-nationals regatta at St. George, where Rohan will be sailing his new Bladerider along with the rest of us on the 16th and 17th of December.

The last buyer pulled out at the last minuite, so she is still for sale.
