Thanks for the links Rob.

Microsoft have almost finally released a version of MSF for CMMI

Last month I posted about the latest MSF agile release. Another release of MSF agile has been posted, with no official word about MSF for CMMI, or so I thought!

In a recent post on his blog last Sunday, David J. Anderson reveals that: “We’ll be releasing the beta of MSF for CMMI Process Improvement on MSDN next weekend”. I hope it’s been worth the wait.

From Rob Caron’s Blog : Latest MSF for Agile Software Development is Available for Download.

We just posted an update of MSF for Agile Software Development.

MSF agile is a great initiative, and it is getting lots of pre-release visibility that we have come to expect from Microsoft these days.

MSF for CMMI on the other hand has yet to see the light of day in any form, and none of the local MS guys that I have occasional contact with seem to know when we will see it either.

My educated guess is that it is currently being evaluated to ensure that it meets CMM level 3 when it rolls out the door.

Oh well, looks like I’ll just have to keep waiting, unless Rob can shed some light on the situation?

From Microsoft PressPass

In its continuing effort to provide enterprise software teams with process guidance for life-cycle development, Microsoft Corp. today announced at the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) conference its collaboration with the Carnegie Mellon® Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a federally funded research center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and operated by Carnegie Mellon University. SEI’s Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) process guidance will be available to Visual Studio 2005 Team System developers through the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF).

Cool, as a self acknowledged MSF addict. I can’t wait to get my hands on this.
